The Greater San Marcos Partnership (GSMP) will host a public event to meet its team. The one-hour virtual session will share insights on how GSMP operates and facilitates the creation of new good paying jobs for Hays and Caldwell Counties.
The virtual event is slated for Wednesday, Dec. 2, from 11 a.m. to noon and will take place over Zoom. RSVPs can be made at https://https.greatersanmarcostx.com/meet-the-gsmp-team-event-2020. All members of the public are encouraged to participate.
“Although GSMP has been helping to grow the region’s economy for ten years, the current team of economic development professionals is relatively new to the organization,” said John Ellis, vice president of marketing and communications at GSMP. “We look forward to connecting with the residents to provide information on our region’s economic development efforts and how GSMP helps improve the quality of life in the Greater San Marcos region through job creation.”
Topics to be covered during the event will include how GSMP is funded, recruits businesses to the region, helps existing companies expand, markets the Texas Innovation Corridor, and collaborates with stakeholders in the public and private sectors. Attendees will also be invited to participate in a Q&A session.
Since 2010, GSMP has helped secure the expansion or relocation of 44 companies to the region, resulting in more than 5,500 direct new jobs and $600 million in capital investment. The annual economic output of GSMP’s associated projects generates $2.8 billion in the Greater San Marcos region.
