Financiers and Funding Resources
The mission of LiftFund is to provide credit and services to small businesses and entrepreneurs who do not have access to loans from commercial sources and to provide leadership and innovation to the microlending industry. As a community microlender LiftFund is a designated community development financial institution (CDFI). CDFI loans finance community businesses, including small businesses, microenterprises, nonprofit organizations, commercial real estate, and affordable housing.
Businesses and entrepreneurs with limited access to resources can acquire small business loans, as well as business assistance and education, through PeopleFund. As a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), PeopleFund operates as a non-profit 501(c)(3) serving all of Texas.
Small businesses can apply to the Texas Workforce Commission for training and employee workforce development. These programs, offered by their local community or technical college, or the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), help improve a company’s labor pool with skilled workforce.
